I spent a short contract working for Number 10 Downing Street and the Cabinet Office, where I was creating tech to improve the efficiency of UK central government.
While I can’t go into too much detail about the specific projects I built - I can talk a little about the experience of working in Number 10.
I took three main lessons from my time there:
- Number 10 is both hilariously ordinary and hilariously extraordinary - and often simultaneously.
- Larry the Cat is an excellent diplomat.
- There are some incredibly bright people working there. And also some elected officials 😉
